I began composing at 14. However, I didn't write "normal" songs. They were nothing like what I heard on the radio. No words; no voice. Just piano. Beautiful, haunting, and strange.

 

Any time I was overwhelmed with my feelings, which is generally a good amount of the time for teenagers, I took to the keys to let it all out.

 

I affectionately called these songs "movie scores" because, what else were they but the score to my life?

 

I have since grown very much and have been lucky enough to score for film and stage.
